Best Buddies International
Director, Jobs Operations
Greater Boston Area
I'm a wife, and mother to a 27-year-old daughter who is a paraprofessional in an elementary school---yes, the apple didn't fall far. In 2004, I started dedicating vacation and personal time to volunteering for 2 organizations, both with missions that were very personal for me. One is usually apparent by meeting me in person. In my down time, I lead a team each year in long distance walks to raise money to fuel research toward finding a cure for breast cancer, after having lost family members to the disease and deciding enough is enough. To date, The Cup Crusaders have raised over $1.6 Million toward a cure. The second, is the organization I now gratefully call my home, and second family, Best Buddies. As a volunteer, I have offered my support to over 35 Challenges. Career-wise, I had spent 30+ years in the Employment/Staffing industry and was thrilled to find an opportunity where I could combine my passion for social justice, with my experience in employment. Since then, I've learned a lot about this organization, having been involved with the growth of the tremendous National Jobs team, going from 11 states and 15 locations in 2016, to 20 states and 36 locations.  I work on projects that include screening and identifying talent to help expand our organization, and Onboarding programs that help new Jobs staff successfully deliver our program. I continue learning and sharing about the Ticket To Work program, now a 6 figure revenue stream. I am thrilled to be part of a dynamic, compassionate and synergistic team that is National Jobs, and the talent we've gained in the last couple of years has given me renewed energy and optimism that we are indeed changing the world; one job participant, one employer partner at a time. I thought I loved my job, until I actually loved my job. ;)
